Moscow Urban Forum Fest. Special project “Industrial zones as a Goldmine of city development”

As part of the Moscow Urban Forum Fest MosPromArt and the Agency for Strategic Development «CENTER» prepared a special joint project on the development of Moscow industrial zones. Within this project, we made a map where we joined the most interesting and promising spots of Moscow redevelopment by a single tourist route.

A sightseeing of sites of Moscow industrial past starts with an excursion prepared by MosPromArt. On the 13, 14, and 15 of July you will learn how engineering and chemical industry, textile fabrication and railroad infrastructure were developing 150 years ago, you will see a unique architecture that appeared in the era of technological progress.

On the 21 of July, the conference “Industrial zones as a Goldmine of city development” will take place in Zaryadye Park. Architects, developers, analysts, historians of Moscow and organizers of industrial-educating projects will tell you what the life of industrial territories in the time of post-industrial era is like; they will share the world’s best practices and show the past life of the industrial capital. At the end of the conference, you will have an excursion to the floating bridge, “State Electric Power Plant No. 1: a glance from "Zaryadye Park” prepared by the project “Moscow as seen by engineers”.

You will see Moscow at the end of the 19th – beginning of the 20th century, during the rapid industrial development and technological progress. You will understand how the factories and plants created by the industrial boom created formed a new historical landscape of Moscow, changed life and culture of the city, and you will discuss the future development of the industrial areas in the 21st century.
