Finalists of the 100 City Leaders program announced
On February 15, at the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi, the finalists of the 100 City Leaders program were announced. An Expert Panel, which included Sergei Georgievskii, CEO of the Agency CENTER, selected projects from 26 Russian cities that will be provided with comprehensive support as part of the program.
The program is aimed at the engagement of active citizens in the creation of a comfortable urban environment. The finalists were selected from among the authors of over 280 initiatives from 74 Russian regions, including projects for the revitalization of barren or non-functional city sites, while preserving their historical and cultural character, and projects for the development of new urban spaces.
The Expert Panel took into consideration the extent to which a project enables solving the relevant city issue and meets the residents’ needs: the novelty of the idea, effects of its implementation, and possibility to replicate the best projects throughout Russia were assessed. The Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) and Rosatom, as the program organizers, in cooperation with ВЭБ.рф, a financial development institution, and ДОМ.рф, an integrated housing development institution, will support the implementation of the project by providing necessary resources, such as acceleration tools, advisors, and a model of interaction with regional authorities and businesses.
