ASI and Agency “CENTER” have opened access to the education program for ecotourism development on the “University 2035” platform

10 February, 2021

Agency for Strategic Initiatives and Agency for Strategic Development “CENTER” have opened unrestricted access to course materials of the program for creation of tourism clusters related to specially protected natural reservations and adjacent natural territories, including speakers’ presentations and sources. Previously, this information has been available only for finalists and winners of the all-Russian competition for tourism cluster creation and ecotourism development in Russia. Starting from 11 February, it will be available for everyone registered on https://2035.university.

Access to the course is going to be organized via the “University 2035” platform. This learning course is one of the resources that are most demanded and recommended by experts. The one-of-a-kind education program has been developed by specialists of ASI and Agency for Strategic Development “CENTER” specifically for the competition finalists. It has become the first project dedicated to development of large tourism clusters related to specially protected natural reservations (SPNR) and adjacent natural territories.

“The topic of development of domestic tourism in regions of Russia turned out to be highly relevant for both industry experts, regional authorities and businesses and locals. Lectures bring up the issues of attracting investments, development of local economy, preservation of cultural legacy, as well as increasing the quality of tourism products and smart fundraising, from private and leveraged investments to means of government support and programs of development institutions. Unique content and clearly constructed structure of the course is universal and can help a broad range of interested persons, from students of specialized universities and directors of SPNR to regional management teams, to increase the level of knowledge and develop new professional competences,” said Deputy General Director of ASI Olga Zakharova.

Experienced teachers, successful entrepreneurs, leading tourism industry experts, economists, architects, marketers, government representatives and managers of SPNR have been sharing their experiences and knowledge over the course of several months. They discussed growth points of domestic tourism in regions, effective mechanisms of ecotourism development and factors of investment attractiveness of the territories using the example of existing tourism clusters, including SPNR.

The course program includes three educational modules split into 30 lectures. The course allows for creation of a high-quality master plan and model of a tourism cluster in the grounds with a potential for ecotourism development.

  • The first module is dedicated to assessment of the tourism potential of a SPNR, territory audits and creation of clarified framework concept of the tourism cluster development.
  • The second module is dedicated to planning and development of the master plan of the tourism cluster, creation of business models and determining volumes of investments.
  • The third module concludes the topic of creation of the master plan and tourism cluster development strategy, as well as includes the development of road map of the project and execution scenarios for a complex of marketing activities related to tourism cluster promotion and attracting businesses.

“We have put a lot of effort into making the platform as convenient as possible for working with the content. During the pandemic, the industry may drive the development of technologies. The more initiatives and projects are created, the faster the process will be. This means the creation of new destinations with infrastructure objects, as well as new jobs, and the growth of local budgets,” said Manager of Product Development Direction of the “University 2035” Svetlana Getmanets.

On 11 February at 11:00, ASI and Agency for Strategic Development “CENTER” will conduct an open webinar dedicated to the program and course speakers and share more information on each module.
