Presentation of the master plan for the Astrakhan agglomeration
On October 6, at 18:00 (Astrakhan time), the presentation of the master plan which determines the development priorities of the Astrakhan agglomeration and the region as a whole will take place in Astrakhan. The event will be held in a hybrid format at the Platform Institute for the Development of Education (ul. Ulyanovykh, 4).
The master plan was chosen as part of the Open International Competition for the Development of a Master Plan for the Astrakhan Agglomeration, which was a part of the comprehensive work started by the region based on the personal instructions of the governor of Astrakhan Region, Igor Babushkin. The winning consortium, led by the Genplan Institute of Moscow, included five companies: Architectural and Design Bureau ID LLC (Astrakhan, Astrakhan Region, Russia), Knight Frank LLP (Moscow, Russia), Asadov Architectural Bureau LLC (Moscow, Russia), CITYTHINKING S. L. (Seville, Spain), and A.V. Averin (Astrakhan, Astrakhan Region, Russia)
The master plan was based on the analytical study “Comprehensive Assessment of the Development Potential of the Astrakhan Agglomeration, Astrakhan Region” prepared by experts from the Agency for Strategic Development CENTER, as well as the results of the participation of residents of the region in accordance with the Standard for Involving Citizens in Solving Issues of the Urban Environment developed by the Ministry of Construction of Russia. The inclusion of all of the desires of residents of Astrakhan in the concept of the master plan was a requirement for the competition.
During the presentation, representatives of the Genplan Institute of Moscow will talk about the main provisions of the master plan for the Astrakhan agglomeration and the proposals from Astrakhan residents that have already been reflected in the document, as well as those that will be taken into account in the improvement stage. During the discussion, anyone will be able to ask questions regarding the development of the master plan and its implementation.
We remind you that the Open International Competition for the Development of a Master Plan for the Astrakhan Agglomeration ended on July 22, 2021. The work was carried out by the Agency for Strategic Development CENTER with the support of the Government of Astrakhan Region and the Administration of Astrakhan and with the participation of leading federal and local experts.
