The first open nationwide “Rhythms of Stone” architectural competition has begun

The founder of the competition is KARELFORUM, and the organizer of the competition is a construction expert. CENTER Group of Companies is acting as the media partner for the competition.

Works are evaluated by a set of criteria. Originality and correctness of the use of natural stone are taken into consideration, as well as the artistic image and style of the object, and compliance with the declared functions. In addition, submission of competitive documentation, aesthetic design graphics and creative approach to the tasks set are important.

Works in the project stage and implemented projects are accepted for the competition. They may be submitted in five nominations:

1. Stone in architecture

Works at the project stage and realized projects of industrial, public, residential apartment buildings and cottages with the use of a natural stone in the facades, plinths, and roofs are accepted in the nomination.

2. Stone in the interior

Works at the project stage and realized projects of interiors of apartments and cottages with use of a natural stone in the finishing, details of the interior, and furniture made of a natural stone are accepted in the nomination.

3. Stone in temple architecture

Works at the project stage and realized projects of temples and other religious constructions with use of natural stone in exteriors and interiors are accepted in the nomination.

4. Stone in landscape architecture

Works at the project stage and realized projects with application of natural stone and small architectural forms of natural stone in landscape architecture are accepted in the nomination: decorative sculpture, fountains, vases, ponds, rockeries, fences, open stairs, ramps, slopes, garden and park furniture, etc.

5. Art objects made of stone

Works at the project stage and realized art objects made of natural stone or using natural stone for arrangement of urban environment and home interiors are accepted in the nomination: monuments, sculptures, installations, statues, bas-reliefs, etc.

At the end of the jury’s work, three winners will be selected in each category. All winners of the competition will be awarded certificates for participation in the KARELFORUM annual Karelian International Stone Forum, as well as cash prizes.

To participate in the competition, complete an application form in Word format with a description of the concept of the project, and email the projects to konkurs@ardexpert.ru by March 1, 2022, noting in the subject: RHYTHMS OF STONE competition project.
