On the final day of ARCH Moscow, “The Honored Guest. Derbent” stand hosted several case study sessions.
At the Cultural Landscape of Derbent. The Value of Antiquity and Authenticity session, the speakers discussed approaches to the analysis of the historical environment, the development of the design code, urban planning regulations, and the need to focus not only on the outward appearance, but also on tactics promoting the cultural traditions of the local community.
At the Transformation of Public Spaces and the Local Economy case study session, guest speakers discussed the creative industries and how creative clusters have impacted the urban environment and the economy. Another important topic was the transformation of public spaces, which affects their image and attractiveness for business.
The final day of the podcasting studio featured Ilya Tokarev, Project Director of the Polis Institute, Artyom Gebelev, founder of the Sobakin City project and expert of the Russian Ministry of Construction on the engagement of urban communities, and Maria Sedletskaya, Head of the Analytical Group of the CENTER Lab International Urban Laboratory.
