The first developments of the Spatial Development Strategy for the Center and Embankment of Vologda were presented to the Mayor of Vologda Sergey Voropanov.

On the initiative of the Administration of Vologda, the experts of the Agency for Strategic Development CENTER together with the ANO Vologda Urban Environment Laboratory and Consortium headed by Architectural Bureau RDNK developed the Strategy of Spatial Development of the central part and the waterfront of Vologda.

The first developments included the results of two already completed phases of the project:

• Preparation of a complex analysis of the territory of the central part of the city and the waterfront;
• Developing the Spatial Development Strategy for the Center and Embankment of Vologda.

To improve the quality of the urban environment and public spaces of the central part of the city, to preserve natural landscapes and cultural heritage objects, proposals were formed for the future development of Vologda:

• Strategy for the development of public space systems along the Volga and Sodem rivers;
• Options for possible resumption of the economy and tourism infrastructure;
• Ways to solve acute urban problems;
• A roadmap for the implementation of selected projects.

The Spatial Development Strategy for the Center and Embankment of Vologda project has been initiated by City Administration of Vologda with ANO Vologda Urban Environment Laboratory and Consortium headed by Architectural Bureau Rozhdestvenka (RDNK). Consortium members: RE-School Research Center for the Preservation of Architectural and Cultural Heritage and Agency for Strategic Development CENTER. The Strategy’s goal is to select high priority projects to achieve strategic objectives of the city development for the period until 2030.
