Projects developed by Agency CENTER are participating in the small towns and historic settlements competition

2 April, 2019

Since the beginning of the year, Agency CENTER has been conducting comprehensive work aimed at creating a comfortable urban environment in Kirovo-Chepetsk, Kirov regionand Troitsk-Chelyabinsk region. Concepts for evolving the network of public spaces and projects for the improvement of the N.D. Tomin Park of Culture and Leisure in Troitsk and the square on Pervomayskaya street in Kirovo-Chepetsk were developed on the basis of analysis. These projects were presented by the municipalities and selected by interdepartmental regional commissions to participate in the all-Russian competition for the best comfortable urban environment projects in small towns and historic settlements in 2019.
The concept for improvement of the N.D. Tomin Park of Culture and Leisure in Troitsk involves the creation of a modern public space with due regard to the specifics of the historic environment. The Park territory will be as open as possible for the town, and its internal space will be divided into thematic zones oriented towards all categories of citizens. The most landscaped and quiet part of the Park will be a family area, where playgrounds for children of different generations will be organized. Students and school children will be able to work and relax in the youth area and engage in active leisure in the neighboring sports area that architects propose separating from other parts of the park with green spaces. Near the intersection of Gagarin and 30 Let VLKSM streets, an inviting entrance area will be arranged as an intimate square with a park cafe. A multipurpose amphitheater hosting concerts, lectures, film shows and dance parties will serve as the center of the park.
An updated public garden on Pervomayskaya street and Constitution square in Kirovo-Chepetsk must become a city landmark and provide citizens with comfortable opportunities for development and self-realization. The planning of this public space is based on a straight alley and a wave-like path that go along the territory. The intersections of these paths with numerous footpaths form areas, the functional content of which was chosen by the people during project seminars. The space of the square implies 6 spaces: recreational, creative, sports, play, a performance zone with an amphitheater, and a multifunctional area.
The basis for the concepts of improvement of these public spaces were comprehensive studies of the urban environment of Troitsk and Kirovo-Chepetsk conducted by experts of the Agency CENTER, as well as the results of joint work with residents and local experts at open events. Regions will be awarded Federal grants for their implementation if they win.
