Winner decided in the Open Nationwide Competition for developing an architectural and urban planning concept for Monchegorsk microdistrict

On 2 December, the results were summarized of the Open Nationwide Competition for developing an architectural and urban planning concept for a microdistrict in Monchegorsk, Murmansk Region.

The jury, chaired by Evgeny Borzenko, Vice President and Head of Kola Division of Norilsk Nickel Mining and Metallurgical Company PJSC and CEO of Kola Mining and Metallurgical Company JSC, selected the winner out of three finalists.

  • According to the voting results, the winner of the competition was the consortium led by the State Research and Design Institute for Urban Development of the City of Moscow (Moscow, Russia) and Atelier Pro (Rotterdam, Netherlands).

  • Second place was taken by individual participant Aukett Swanke OOO (Moscow, Russia).

  • Third place was given to the consortium under the leadership of DB Arch Studio/individual entrepreneur Dmitry Aleksandrovich Boykov (St. Petersburg, Russia/Stuttgart, Germany). Consortium members Nixdorf Consult GmbH (Stuttgart-Gerlingen, Germany).
