29 September, 2022

The Zodchestvo International Architectural Festival is one of the largest events in the field of architecture. The main objectives of the festival include creating a space for specialists in various areas to exchange experiences and discuss issues of architecture and urban planning.

This year's topic, proposed by festival curator Aleksey Komov, is “Reflection.” It is focused on the search for and identification of modern trends in architecture and urban planning.

Sergei Georgievskii, co-founder of the CENTER Group of Companies, took part in the “Star Atlas of the Moscow Architectural Community: the Birth of Supernovas” round table as part of the festival.

Over the last 10 years, new demands have arisen for the architectural community: the quality of the urban environment (housing, various infrastructure), taking into account regional specifics. New market players are emerging. Competitive practices have also contributed and are contributing to further changes, as not only established architectural bureaus, but also very young teams are increasingly taking part in contests. This is an opportunity for unknown bureaus and architects to express themselves and get their work out there.

Sergei Kuznetsov, Chief Architect of Moscow, Grigorios Gavalidis, head of the GAFA bureau, Ruben Arakelyan, head of the WALL bureau, Nikolai Pereslegin, partner at Kleinewelt Architekten, Daria Listopad, co-founder of the Megabudka bureau, and Nadezhda Korneeva, architect at KRNV architects, also took part in the discussion.

The experts discussed the creation of architectural policy, the factors that influence the development of architectural bureaus, which competencies are in demand today, and much more.

Round table organizer: Committee for Architecture and Urban Planning of the City of Moscow (MCA).

The moderators were Elena Petukhova, Special Projects Manager, Union of Moscow Architects Interregional Public Organization (UMA), and Yulia Shishalova, Chief Editor, Project Russia.
