The program “My District — A Place to Meet” presents Kotlovka as a clear example of how Moscow is redefining the urban environment — shifting from fragmented improvements to integrated spatial development. From historic estates and green ravines to modern parks, eco-trails, and neighborhood sports clusters, the district illustrates how everyday infrastructure is being reimagined at the local level.
These spaces are no longer limited to basic upgrades — they function as a comprehensive urban environment. Riverfront routes, recreation areas, and multifunctional spaces support a wide range of use scenarios — from leisure and walking to sports — creating a cohesive and accessible infrastructure.
Yulia Vedenina, Head of the Analytical Group at the Agency for strategic development "CENTER", highlighted that standards for public spaces have increased significantly in recent years. This shift directly shapes behavior — a growing number of residents now spend their time within their own districts rather than traveling to the city center or beyond.
The program also underscores Moscow’s technological edge. The city ranks among the most digitalized globally, offering more than 450 public services online. Digital tools actively support spatial development — from virtual route planning to advanced urban environment analytics.
As a result, Moscow is establishing a new model of urban living — where comfort, safety, and leisure are within walking distance. The district itself becomes a point of attraction, strengthening local identity and unlocking development potential.
