How the Bridge Awards Help Strengthen Moscow’s International Ties
The international analytical publication Eurasia Review has published an interview with Sergei Georgievskii, Co-founder, Agency for strategic development "CENTER", and Chair of the Organising Committee of the International Bridge Awards. He explained why attracting international professionals is important for the development of Moscow and Russia and outlined the role the awards play in this process.
Operated by the Agency for strategic development "CENTER", the Bridge Awards recognise the contribution of foreign nationals and repatriates to the country’s development while strengthening international professional, cultural and business ties.
“Russia and Moscow remain open to people who share the values of our culture. People from around the world continue to come here to fulfil their potential,” Sergei Georgievskii emphasised.
According to the Chair of the Organising Committee, recognising the achievements of international professionals and sharing their stories helps integrate the international professional community. The awards also showcase the opportunities available in Moscow and Russia to those considering the country as a place to live, advance their careers and pursue their own initiatives.
The interview pays particular attention to the Integration and Adaptation category. It recognises those who help foreign nationals and repatriates become part of life in the country. According to Sergei Georgievskii, this work should be a two-way process that helps build connections between people from different countries.
The results of the inaugural Bridge Awards confirmed the initiative’s international appeal. The organisers received 108 applications from 41 countries. A total of 64 candidates representing 31 countries reached the final across 12 categories. The participants included entrepreneurs, scientists, athletes, cultural figures and representatives of civic initiatives.
Sergei Georgievskii also discussed the future development of the Bridge Awards. The organisers plan to hold the awards annually and gradually expand their format. In addition to selecting the winners, the programme may include lectures, seminars and expert discussions on attracting and integrating talented professionals.
This approach could establish the Bridge Awards as an ongoing platform for international dialogue and create a professional community of people interested in developing their projects in Russia.
