On January 31 at 4:30 PM, St. Petersburg will host the presentation of the new architecture journal prodigest at the KLAUZURA coworking space (30 Kozhevennaya Line). The event will take place as part of the panel discussion “Competitions and Awards in Contemporary Architectural Practice: A Promotion Tool or an Obligation?”, which is included in the conference “Only an Architect”. The conference is organized by the architecture bureau KLAUZURA.
The main sections and materials of the journal will be presented by Anna Martovitskaya, Editor-in-Chief of prodigest, and Sergei Georgievskiy, Co-founder of the Agency for Strategic Development “CENTER,” which served as the analytical partner of the first issue of prodigest.
Invited speakers include:
Maria Elkina – architecture critic, member of the Council for Cultural Heritage Preservation under the Governor of St. Petersburg;
Oleg Manov – Head of the FUTURA-ARCHITECTS studio, member of the Board of the St. Petersburg Union of Architects;
Daria Miroshnichenko – Co-founder of the KLAUZURA architecture bureau and coworking space.
The speakers will discuss whether competitions and awards are an effective tool for building an architect’s reputation and professional growth, and will analyze key criteria for assessing their practical value and return on investment.
Architectural competitions and awards are the central theme of the first issue of prodigest. Founded by independent publishers Anna Martovitskaya and Denis Dmitrienko, the journal was launched at the end of 2025. The cover features the new building of the Galiaskar Kamal Theatre in Kazan—a unique example in Russian architectural practice of a project realized after winning an international competition. A detailed analysis of the competition process and the implementation of its results is one of the issue’s key materials.
Other major publications include a “User’s Guide” to architectural competitions, step-by-step instructions on portfolio creation and team building for competitions, the feature “100 Awards for Architects,” and the “Partnership Indices” directory, which presents 58 international companies open to collaboration with Russian architectural firms.
