The final of the Nationwide Architectural Competition, made possible thanks to the Fund for Future Generations, is one of the most remarkable events of this year. We hope that the Park for Future Generations, located not far from the campus, where Yakutsk’s young heart beats, becomes a unique place. We live in a unique city. We don’t merely survive here in the snow and ice, but we live, create, and dream. This project should be the embodiment of our dreams, and of our view of the future.

On the second day of the seminar, there was a press conference at the Republican Information and Publishing Holding Sakhamedia, where the representative of the project initiator, the Organizing Committee, and the finalists answered journalists’ questions. Video of the event is available on the official YouTube-channel of the Agency for Strategic Development CENTER

After the press conference, there was a strategy session at Boiling Point with Irina Alekseeva, Chief Architect of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), and experts in the fields of architecture, urban planning, and regional development.  At the session, finalists could ask the experts their questions, in order to better understand the context of the design territory and its particularities. The finalists got a lot of useful advice.
The day finished with a landmark meeting, where the finalists talked with the Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Aysen Nikolaev. He expressed his desire that the Park for Future Generations be a place of year-round activity, and that Yakutia’s small business community be involved in its operation.

I am sure that Russia’s leading companies, together with our local firms, can make this project a reality, and the jewel of Yakutsk.

On December 20, Sergei Georgievskii, General Director of the Agency for Strategic Development CENTER, talked about the competition on Yakutsk television channel NVK Sakha’s program “New Day”, and later took part in a plenary discussion with local lead experts at the fourth annual forum Urban Innovations.

The final event of the seminar was a meeting with Yakutsk residents. Participants discussed the functional features, greenery, and architectural form of the future park. Among the attendants were leaders of local sports organizations, who expressed a desire to create an area for extreme sports. The information received as a result of this dialogue will be important for the teams’ upcoming work on the park.
