Submission of Proposals for the Master Plans of Borodino, Nazarovo, and Sharypovo Completed

20 December, 2024

As part of the Open All-Russian Competition for the development of master plans for the Krasnoyarsk Territory cities of Borodino, Nazarovo, and Sharypovo, the submission phase for finalists' proposals has concluded. Earlier, in November, two cycles of interim presentations were held, allowing participants to refine their documents for the final defense.

The final stage of proposal preparation was carried out with the active involvement of the Andrey Melnichenko Charitable Foundation, the city administrations, and representatives of "SUEK-Krasnoyarsk," who promptly provided finalists with additional information necessary to create master plans that align with the cities' development objectives.

The competition, initiated by the Melnichenko Foundation and operated by the Strategic Development Agency "CENTER," aims to make Borodino, Nazarovo, and Sharypovo—currently focused on coal mining and energy—more livable and attractive.

The final defense will take place in Moscow on January 23 in person. Finalists will present an assessment of the development potential of the competition territories, their mission, and their envisioned future. They will also provide specific scenarios for achieving these objectives. The jury will evaluate urban planning solutions, proposals for enhancing the ecological framework, and improvements to social, engineering, transport, and tourist infrastructure.

The master plans are being developed with a horizon until 2040 and include key projects and activities, complete with evaluations of their effectiveness, implementation phases, and funding sources.

Each category of the competition features three finalists—consortia and individual participants such as architectural firms, organizations specializing in urban planning and territorial development, and urbanists.

The jury comprises experts in architecture, urban planning, city development, public space design, landscape architecture, and economics, as well as government representatives.

The total prize fund amounts to 27 million rubles.

Detailed information about the competition is available on its official website.
