Industrial Heritage 2.0: New Approaches to Analytics and Preservation

On June 7, during the VIII All-Russian Architectural Heritage Festival in Ryazan, a roundtable titled “Analytics of Industrial Heritage: Methodology and Efficiency Horizons” was held. The speaker was Ekaterina Terekhova, lead analyst at the Strategic Development Agency “CENTER”.

Experts discussed modern approaches to industrial heritage, focusing on new data formats, integration of industrial sites into urban environments, and innovative evaluation methods for industrial monuments.

Terekhova presented methods for analyzing industrial heritage to assess potential and identify innovative and economically viable uses:

“Today, we have a unique opportunity not only to preserve industrial heritage but also to find new, innovative, and economically effective functions for it,” she said.

Participants emphasized the importance of an interdisciplinary approach and the development of standardized assessment criteria for industrial heritage sites.

The Architectural Heritage festival continues to serve as a platform for professional dialogue on preserving and adapting historical sites, and the methodologies presented can be applied across Russia.
