Entries for the 17th Russian National Award for Landscape Architecture and Garden Art are open until October 20, 2026. Participants may submit completed projects and unrealised proposals, ranging from public spaces to designs for private grounds. The Agency for strategic development "CENTER" is a co-organiser of the award.
The competition covers a range of approaches to urban and natural environments. Award categories include public spaces, integrated improvements to residential environments, facilities serving community needs, private gardens, the restoration and adaptive reuse of cultural heritage sites, and the recreation of historic gardens and parks. Separate categories focus on urban planning solutions, site planning projects and concepts, and environmental and engineering design.
Producers of planting stock, landscaping products and small-scale architectural elements are also eligible to participate. The award also recognises efforts to promote landscape architecture through publications, media projects and educational initiatives.
Under the competition rules, projects and completed works from the past five years are eligible for awards. There is no limit to the number of entries per participant, but each project or completed work may be entered in only one category. The same work may not be resubmitted to subsequent competitions at the same stage of implementation. However, a previously submitted proposal may be entered once it has been completed.
Entries may be submitted by the authors or their authorised representatives. Eligible participants include landscape architects, designers, architects, engineers, manufacturers, state institutions, executive authorities, public associations and other organisations whose work meets the award category requirements.
To apply, participants must review the competition rules, select a category and complete the application form on the ALAROS website. Subsequent steps include signing an agreement, preparing materials in accordance with the technical requirements and templates, and completing the form for printing the award certificate. Submission materials and mandatory information are specified separately for each category.
Entries will be reviewed during the Russian National Award for Landscape Architecture and Garden Art festival, held from November 16 to 20 at the Central House of Architects in Moscow. The competition programme includes public project presentations. Experts from the Agency for strategic development "CENTER" will serve on the jury and contribute to the professional programme.
Participants should check their work against the requirements of their chosen category in advance and prepare materials explaining the brief, the site context and the proposed design solutions. The competition rules, application procedure and document templates are available on the official ALAROS website: https://alaros.ru.
