The study involves a comprehensive analysis of the territory of improvement of the embankments of the Moscow River on the island of Balchug in order to conduct an open international competition.

Description of the territory: Sofiyskaya, Raushskaya, Kosmodamianskaya, Sadovnicheskaya embankments. The area of the projected area is 18.3 hectares.

Research Objectives:

• analysis of the current situation and the main directions of development of the territory of improvement of the embankments of the Moscow River, including the analysis of the legal framework;
• study of world experience in the development of similar territories (on the example of reference cities);
• the study of the needs of the population regarding the use of the territory of improvement of the embankments of the Moscow River, as well as the analysis of the perception of the territory by the population of the city and tourists on the basis of a sociological survey;
• conducting a sociological survey in order to identify satisfaction with the level of quality of the urban environment, transport, social, infrastructure services;
• analysis of the main problems and restrictions of the territory, the development potential of the planned territory, SWOT analysis;
• development of basic principles for the development of the territory of improvement of the embankments of the Moscow River;
• preparation of a scenario for the development of the territory of embankments.
