Projects

The 17th Russian National Award for Landscape Architecture and Garden and Park Art is one of the country’s leading professional events in the field, bringing together landscape architects, designers, architects, urban planners, engineers, industry professionals, government representatives and experts. Established in 2009, the Award covers landscape architecture and design, garden and park art, landscaping and public realm improvements, planting and ecological design, as well as the production of landscaping elements and small architectural forms. In 2026, the Award will be held as a nationwide festival.

In 2025, the festival welcomed more than 1,700 in-person attendees. Its business programme featured over 70 speakers, while the competition attracted more than 190 professional applicants, who submitted over 320 entries for awards.

Over the past five years, the business programme has featured more than 200 speakers presenting practical and academic expertise, and has attracted more than 8,000 participants across online and in-person formats. Its reported audience reach across social media, the press and specialist publications exceeds 500,000.

Goals and Objectives

The Award aims to promote and advance the Russian school of landscape architecture, support the professional community, and contribute to improving the quality of urban environments and garden and park design. It provides a platform for showcasing completed projects and design proposals, discussing current industry issues and facilitating professional exchange.

The competition programme features projects in the following areas:

• landscape architecture and public realm improvement;
• urban planning solutions, concepts and methodologies;
• ecological and engineering design;
• production of landscaping elements and small architectural forms;
• promotion of landscape architecture and public engagement.

Event Format

• In 2026, the Award will be held as a nationwide festival. The programme will include open jury sessions to select the winners, competition and business programmes, an exhibition of competition entries, a youth award for students, opening and closing ceremonies, and a gala dinner for award winners, partners and distinguished guests.

Programme

• 16 November — official opening ceremony of the festival.
• 17–19 November — business programme events and jury sessions.
• 20 November — official closing ceremony, awards presentation and gala dinner.
• The business programme includes round tables, panel discussions and partner events. Participants traditionally include experts in architecture, design and territorial development, representatives of executive authorities and development institutions, landscape architecture and design companies, as well as manufacturers of equipment and construction materials.

Competition Programme

• The competition is open to projects completed within the past five years by Russian and international individuals and legal entities. Eligible participants include government institutions and executive authorities, public associations, commercial and non-profit organisations, manufacturers, as well as landscape architects, designers, architects, engineers and urban planners.
• There is no limit on the number of entries submitted by a single applicant. However, the same project may not be entered in more than one Award category.
• Jury sessions are held in an open format, with a representative of each applicant presenting the submitted project or completed development in person. Assessment criteria include the project’s response to its urban, natural and functional context; architectural and planning solutions; the quality of plant selection; the coherence and functionality of the spatial environment; quality of implementation; and the overall presentation of the project.

• The Award includes:
• a Gold Diploma and the Golden Cube commemorative award;
• a Silver Diploma;
• a Bronze Diploma;
• a special Diploma of the President of ALAROS for outstanding achievements in landscape architecture and urban planning.

Exhibition Programme

• The festival will feature an open exhibition showcasing some of Russia’s leading projects. The exhibition programme will also include stands and promotional displays from the Award’s and the Association’s partners, presenting contemporary products, technologies and solutions for the industry.
