I National Far Eastern Award in Architecture and Urban Planning “DalArch ’26”

16 July – 2 December 2026
Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)

“DalArch ’26” is the first National Far Eastern Award in Architecture and Urban Planning, aimed at identifying, professionally evaluating, and publicly recognizing the best projects implemented or being developed across the Far Eastern Federal District.

The Award combines two key components: a competitive selection process and a two-day business program dedicated to the development of architecture, the urban environment, public spaces, tourism, infrastructure, and Far Eastern cities.

A press conference dedicated to the launch of the Award and the opening of the application period will take place in the near future. The final event of “DalArch ’26” will be the official awards ceremony, to be held in Yakutsk in December 2026.

The mission of the Award is to reflect the uniqueness and ambition of the Russian Far East in architecture, urban planning, and urban environment development — and to set professional standards for creating environments that unlock the region’s potential for living, working, and investment.

Goals and objectives of the Award

  • Identify the best completed and unbuilt projects that transform space, shape a comfortable urban environment, and support the development of the Russian Far East
  • Recognize the contribution of architects, developers, project teams, public authorities, development institutions, and the professional community to the development of territories across the Far Eastern Federal District
  • Strengthen the status of architecture and promote the work of the creative sector in the Russian Far East
  • Create an expert platform for discussing key challenges and solutions in architecture, urban planning, tourism, public spaces, and infrastructure
  • Integrate competitive selection, professional evaluation, the business program, and the awards ceremony into a single public platform
  • Support knowledge exchange between regions of the Russian Far East and scale successful Far Eastern practices to other regions of Russia

“DalArch ’26” is held as a comprehensive professional award combining competitive and event-based formats.

As part of the competition track, applicants submit their entries through the official Award website. At the first stage, jury members review applications remotely, after which a ranking is formed and finalists are selected in each nomination category. At the second stage, finalists submit additional materials, while jury committees hold online sessions to review finalist applications and determine the winners.

Winners receive awards in three degrees: Gold Diploma, Silver Diploma, and Bronze Diploma. The Award also includes a Grand Prix, granted to the Far Eastern Federal District region whose projects receive the highest number of prizes across the nomination categories.

As part of the business program, Award participants, representatives of the professional community, public authorities, development institutions, developers, architects, urbanists, and experts will discuss key topics shaping the future of Far Eastern territories: public spaces, tourism infrastructure, the cultural landscape of cities, master plans, design codes, anchor settlements, and new approaches to urban environment development.

It is in the Russian Far East that we are now seeing the emergence of what will later scale across the country: new meanings, technologies, architecture, aesthetics, and fashion. This is a laboratory that demonstrates new models of development — a bridge between European Russia and the Global South. Across the Far Eastern Federal District, integrated development strategies are emerging, master plans are being implemented, new tools of architectural and urban planning are being introduced, and contemporary facilities are being delivered. We are confident that the Award will demonstrate the scale of ongoing transformation and become a platform for extending Far Eastern experience to other regions.
