Open International Competition of Urban Landscaping and Design

The contest is held within the framework of the festival "Moscow. Flowers. Sweets". 

GOAL OF THE COMPETITION

To develop and implement landscaping and floral solutions on the streets of Moscow, floral art and functional objects of art with varying levels of complexity within the framework of the "Moscow. Flowers. Sweets" festival.

During the competition, participants will develop projects of landscape and flower compositions, as well as solutions for beautification and verdurisation, which will be implemented at 15 city sites - streets, boulevards, squares and other pedestrian areas of Moscow, both in the city centre and peripheral sites, across 6 city districts.

Stage 1

Floral landscaping solutions (comprehensive beautification plans).
Participants submit applications, which include information about the participant, a portfolio of the relevant projects, and a sketch of the idea of the bid.

Detailed requirements for filing the application are provided in the "Competition Regulations" section.

Stage 2

Development of documentation for the implementation of bids

The finalists of the competition, selected by the jury from among the submitted applications, develop documentation for the subsequent implementation of the proposals submitted at the first stage.

Stage 3

Implementation of bids and the definition of the best projects.

Moscow's central streets - Rozhdestvenka, Kuznetskiy Most, Nikolskaya, Arbat, Tverskaya Square, Kamergersky and Stoleshnikov Lanes, Novopushkinsky Square and Tverskaya Square, as well as peripheral areas will be decorated by the floral and landscape compositions, flower panels, art objects and flower beds that will form places of attraction and recreation, green oases for the townspeople.

Nominations

Nomination 1: Architectural and landscape improvement objects

Implementation of 10 projects on 7 pedestrian streets and squares of Moscow: Rozhdestvenka Street, Kuznetsky Most, Arbat, Nikolskaya, Kamergersky Lane, Novopushkinsky Square and Tverskaya Square.

Nomination 2: Vertical floral compositions

Development of 5 arrays of vertical flower panels, which will be installed in Stoleshnikov Lane.

Nomination 3: Flower compositions from potted plants

Creation of 13 modular designed flower beds on Nikolskaya street, Tverskoy Boulevard.

There is a fourth nomination for amateurs:"Flower beds in district areas"

in which beginners can have landscape architectural and floral art participation.

REMUNERATION

Nomination 1

Grand prize for the complex gardening category – 85 000 USD (5 000 000 rubles).

Spectator award – 17 000 USD (1 000 000 rubles).

Nomination 2

The winner will receive 3 500 USD (200 000 rubles).

Nomination 3

The winner will receive 3 500 USD (300 000 rubles).

Nomination 4 (amateur)

For the amateur nomination, a reward of 1 500 USD (100,000 rubles) will be awarded to the 6 winners for the best project at each of the 10 sites.

About Moscow. Flowers. Sweets. Festival

Visitors of the festival will be able to view the works of Russian and western landscape designers and florists, and take part in workshops, fairs, a floral ball, and a cycling parade, and the first floral parade in Moscow. Thematic workshops, a flower market and a sweet fair will take place on Tverskaya Ploschad on the Moscow International Forum of Florists, Urban Landscaping and Design.
